The Captain Vinayak Gore Vile Parle Flyover connecting the east with the west is causing accidents to take place in the area frequently. The following are the reasons for the same:
SKATING FLOOR AT THE END OF THE FLYOVER IN THE WEST
At the end of the bridge in the west, the turns are very risky, especially the first turn on the left side of the road that connects Bajaj Road and is a one way lane. The floor of the road right at the turning point is prone to skits and is leading to many skits taking place for the two-wheelers, causing major accidents and injuries.
SPEED DRIVING
Drivers throughout the end are mostly driving at a fast speed which is why it becomes unable to stop immediately when general public are crossing the road and this leads to mismatch between the two and accident takes place.
DRIVING AND WRONG WAY TURNS
Many two-wheelers disregard the barricade rule, and thus, in order to turn quickly into the bridge, they take the wrong side of the road, and the fast cars coming through are unable to stop immediately, causing accidents and, on occasion, traffic jams that require the attention of the traffic police. Hence, delay and waste of time are also major problems. Therefore, if you are running late and have to follow the same road, kindly depart early accordingly to not run late and reach on time!
LACK OF TRAFFIC POLICE FORCE TO MAINTAIN REGULATION
At most times, there is no traffic police officer to keep a check on the sides of the working road at the western side of Parle Bridge, which leads to vehicles from all sides of the road coming ahead at the same time, leading to accidents and some serious traffic jams. There are also no traffic signals to maintain a regulation. Hence, it should be made necessary for the traffic police to be available at least during most of the busy hours, such as school hours, office hours, and more, in order to solve the problems of accidents and traffic jams.
These are the major problems faced by the residents living nearby. It is also a threat to school students living in the area who must cross roads after coming from schools. Officers and the working class are also victims of the same, as being stuck in traffic jams only wastes fuel and time, hence leading to psychological problems of aggression, anxiety, and impatience.
If you are a resident of the area between Vile Parle East and West and are facing the same problem, kindly report it to the nearest police station or email pi.traffic.control@trafficpolicemumbai.org.
