On 14th February, Aditya Thackeray attended public meeting (जाहीर सभा) at Borivali, Mumbai. The event began at 5 pm with a rally from Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The event officially started at 7:30 pm after the arrival of Sushma tai andhare and other VIPs.
Aditya Thackeray arrived in the event at 8:40 pm. The arrival of Aditya Thackeray was welcomed by fireworks, music and cheering of the crowd. As soon as Aditya Thackeray arrived, VIPs paid their respects to Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the founder of Shiv Sena, Balasaheb Thackeray with flowers.
Aditya Thackeray began his speech with “Jai Maharashtra” chants with full energy and crowd chanted “Jai Maharashtra” along with him. He criticized the 40 rebel MLAs who left Uddhav Thackeray’s party to join hands with Eknath Shinde. He also mentioned about the Supreme court’s decision to hear Shiv Sena faction dispute. The supreme court began its hearing on the constitutional issues arising over the rift within the Shiv Sena factions. Aditya Thackeray said that he wanted to deliver the message of shiv sena even at the places where people have limited connection to the outside world (mostly small villages in Maharashtra).
While delivering his speech Aditya Thackeray also pointed out at the women crowd who attended the event. “50% of audience are women” said Aditya Thackeray by praising the participation of women in politics and various other events. The praising of women from Aditya Thackeray showed that he cared about the women rights which lack in the most parts of India.
Then he mentioned about the current government of Eknath Shinde by calling his government “Gaddar gang” because Eknath Shinde and other rebels betrayed Shiv Sena. Aditya Thackeray said ” they (government of Eknath Shinde) are not the government of people, they are monsters”. Aditya Thackeray also mentioned about the current water crisis in Mumbai and the strikes conducted by the Mumbai water tanker association (MWTA), pointing at the poor management skills of the current government of Eknath Shinde. Aditya Thackeray called the previous government of Uddhav Thackeray “Government of progress”.
Aditya Thackeray pointed out at the current problems of the state, along with the increasing unemployment in Maharashtra. While criticizing the government of Eknath Shinde, he talked about the bigger opportunities and lower unemployment rates when Uddhav Thackeray was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
He also attacked at the opposition by mentioning Maharashtra’s lost opportunity of Vedanta Foxconn company. Because of Eknath Shinde and his government, Vedanta Foxconn company moved to Gujarat. The company would have generated more than 2 lakh jobs in Maharashtra, and it would have boosted the economy of Maharashtra along with benefiting various other small-scale businesses in Maharashtra. However, due to the political crisis created by Eknath Shinde and other rebels, Maharashtra lost its golden opportunity.
Aditya Thackeray also mentioned increased corruption rates in Maharashtra. He said, “The students who study hard and score good marks, have to bribe officials to get a job posting”. He also spoke about the success of BMC and Mumbai. “Shiv Sena for Mumbai and Mumbai for Shiv Sena! Today this is sitting in the mind and heart of every Mumbaikar!” said Aditya Thackeray, “please show me one municipal corporation in Asia whose budget is in surplus. Even if it is possible, we can provide every facility at a good price.” he added, “I have sworn i will not let my Mumbai, my Maharashtra bow before Delhi!”
Aditya Thackeray also added about Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in his speech by saying ” It was the work of Uddhav Thackeray’s government and the government of Eknath Shinde stole the fame”.
Later Aditya Thackeray also talked about how Shiv Sena started the first electric bus in India. He talked about the current crowded situation of BEST buses; he promised that Shiv Sena will start 10,000 buses with 900 double decker electric buses in Mumbai. He also mentioned about the increasing toll prices at highways, along with how Uddhav Thackeray’s government digitalized Maharashtra. “Gaddar gang’s government is corrupt” said Aditya Thackeray.
Overall Aditya Thackeray praised works of Uddhav Thackeray’s government, criticized Eknath Shinde’s government and talked about the future plans of Shiv Sena for the development of Maharashtra. There was excessive unity in the event, both Aditya Thackeray and the crowd were filled with energy.
