In life, we all must have had that one true friend we used to call ours. Perhaps some of us are still sharing our hearts with those friends with whom we used to share our toys! Some stayed, some left; this is what gives meaning to our lives, right? But no matter how much time passes, we never forget how much we miss them. The endless conversations, countless memories, and perfectly mated souls just disappear somewhere. Despite knowing that the world is cruel, it can still perform miracles, and we adored that one person to no end!
Here are some amazing heartwarming poems by famous artists for all the broken but healing hearts.
1. Friendship Redefined by Dhowni Jain
It may appear silly at times that I am still not over my previous friendships or relationships, but this is who I am. I may be in class 5 or 10, but I thought my relationships with those friends with whom I had countless memories would last a long time, but I lost them. This could be one of the reasons I became so isolated, fearful of friendships. The term “best friends” no longer means anything to me; instead, it appears to be more fictitious. I believe that social media is also one of the reason in portraying friendships as more pure, which is not always the case for everyone I suppose. But today after talking with you I realised that I, too, had a wrong notion of friendship, similar to those soul mates on social media. I suppose It does not has to be that way. I may not believe in terms like “soulmates” or “friends forever,” but I can believe in best friends if I look at it differently.
2. Alone by Maya Angelou
[Excerpt]
“Lying, thinking
Last night
How to find my soul a home
Where water is not thirsty,
And bread loaf is not stone
I came up with one thing
And I don’t believe I’m wrong
That nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.”
3. The Death of Friendship by James WF Roberts.
It’s always the ones who know you the best, who can doubt you the fastest, who can project their worst fears on what you could be faster than strangers.
It’s always the ones you trust the most, or who trust you the most, who know you better than anyone else who can doubt you the easiest.
The death of a friendship, especially from outside sources is worse than the death of romantic love.
The death of all love is horrific.
But, the death of someone you love as a friend, a colleague as a sister or a brother always hurts more the bitterness of the sting is always worse.
4. A Loss Of Meaning By Heather M Craig
I’m observing the actions,
so much is taking place,
the friend I knew a time before
is somehow lost behind the face.
The friend I once held so close inside
has faded like light into dark,
Although I’ve been replaced with naive love,
It’s obvious, he’s still hidden in my heart.
It hurts to endure another betrayal
but to see a beautiful person lose himself
hits a place deeper than friendship….
to watch it all go in the unworthiness of someone else.
5. You Caused My Tears To Fall By Adriana Mason
The tears roll down my cheek
My eyes they start to swell
I’m missing every part of you
Your laugh, your smile, your smell.
You were my second half
You knew me inside out
I can not comprehend it all
What this is all about.
I thought I meant something to you
You meant the world to me
Now I see it wasn’t real
But how could this all be?
You’ll never know the pain you caused
You aren’t there to see it all
My heart continues to ache
You caused my tears to fall.
No matter what though, at the end of it all., we miss them! Share this blog with those friends you miss making memories with.
