The United States and China are well known for their rivalry against each other. In recent years, the relations between the two countries have deteriorated rapidly due to the competitive and bullying nature of China.
The relationship between the US and China is one of the most important and complex relationships of the modern age. With both countries being major economic and political powers, the two nations have deep and far-reaching connections that both countries must carefully manage.
The US and China now have a tense relationship, with the US taking a more aggressive stance against China on various diplomatic and economic issues. The US has imposed tariffs and other restrictions on China, while China has criticized US policy in the South China Sea, accused the US of attempting to destabilize the region, and protested US support of Taiwan.
However, today China crossed all limits by flying its spy balloon over the US nuclear launch site in Montana.
The US is tracking a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that has been spotted over U.S. airspace for a couple of days. The balloon is said to be flying at an altitude well above commercial air traffic and does not present a military or physical threat to people on the ground, however, the Pentagon has advised against taking any action against it because of the risk of harming civilians.
This is the latest in a string of troubling developments in relations between the US and China, which are already strained due to ongoing tensions over trade and Beijing’s military expansion in Asia.
Reports have emerged in recent days that the balloon was spotted flying over a US nuclear site, raising concerns about the security of the site and the potential for Chinese espionage. The US government is monitoring the situation closely and is attempting to determine the intent of the balloon.
The US considered shooting down the balloon, but it had to take a step back because the debris of the balloon would cause huge problems for the residents of Montana.
China has asked the United States to remain ‘cool headed’ over suspected spy balloon. “China is a responsible country and has always strictly abided by international laws, and China has no intention to violate the territory and airspace of any sovereign countries. As for the balloon, as I’ve mentioned just now, we are looking into and verifying the situation and hope that both sides can handle this together calmly and carefully,” said Mao Ning, Foreign Ministry spokesperson of China.
