We’ve had various Bollywood actors who ruled all over the industry but this female Bollywood actress was a pure iconic statement of the industry. I am talking about the gorgeous diva, Parveen Babi. Born on 4th April 1954, Gujrat, she was noticed by the director B.R. Ishara while she was studying in the Ahmedabad University. He was so impressed by her alluring and appealing looks and launched her in the movie ‘Charita’ in 1973. This movie got flop but later there was no stopping to this lady! She kept on climbing ladders of success and her audience loved her and her performance that she was one of the highest paid actress of her era. She was the first Indian actor to feature on the cover page of Time’s Magazine in 1976.
Some of her most iconic songs and movies are, Raat Baaqi Baat Baaqi and Jawani Janeman from Namak Halal, Amar Akhbar Anthony, Deewar and etc. She was then diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and died out of total organ failure and diabetes on Jan 2005 at the age of 50 as her condition got out of control. Her name was also connected to some famous Bollywood actors back then. Her rival actress is known to be Zeenat Aman but Parveen Babi had created the space in her audiences heart which would never be replaced.
