We all know, how much we Indians love drama/romantic movies and a slight touch of mystery & action would do wonders! Speaking of that, Marathi movie industry has set its standard again. New blockbuster movie ‘Ved’ is winning hearts right from the first day of release & has crossed 20 crore in its first week on the box-office. Also, this movie has left behind the American superhit blockbuster movie ‘Joker’ which is a huge record for Marathi movie industry in itself! The leading stars of the movie are non-other than a very famous Bollywood’s couple, Riteish Deshmukh & Genelia D’Souza. It is also Riteish Deshmukh’s first directorial debut, in which he seems as a perfectionist already & is produced by Genelia D’Souza. The film is a remake of the film ‘Majili’ which is a Tollywood superhit film.
This film is a full-on entertainment. The dialogues & the punches in the overall film are very coherent & touching. Riteish Deshmukh is playing a lead role of ‘Satya’ who loves cricket & wants to play cricket in railway quarters . He has definitely astonished the audience by his outstanding & phenomenal acting performance. Whereas, Genelia is playing a role of his wife Shravani who is a government employee but her performance is still being questionable. If we talk about her acting, it is pretty mediocre and as being a Mangalorean Catholic her Marathi accent seems unpleasing to the audience. Speaking of the story line, it starts with a very cliché love story with old fashioned scenes where Satya falls in love with a girl named Nisha where the protagonist Bhaskar creates havoc & they get separated. Then the story directly forwards to 5 years later, where Satya is married to Shravani in a unhappy marriage where Satya who drinks alcohol whole day on Shravani’s earnings & doesn’t work anywhere. The suspense of what actually happened to Nisha is maintained very interestingly all over the movie. Eventually, Satya realizes about his mischiefs & joins a job as a under 14 cricket coach where he finds a girl named Khushi playing absolutely outstanding cricket. Thereafter, he gets to know that she’s actually Nisha’s daughter. He further knows that Nisha was told that Bhaskar has killed Satya & her father gets her married in which Nisha indulges her daughter towards cricket due to Satya’s influence but unfortunately Nisha & her husband dies in a car accident. After knowing this, Satya immediately takes Khushi with him & Shravani accepts her as her own child knowing the whole truth. As Khushi steps into their lives, everything was coming back to normal where Shravani realizes that Satya is never going to love her back & she decides to accept her promotion & shift to Nagpur. Satya never really cared until Shravani speaks up for herself on the railway station which strikes Satya’s mind and he finally realizes & confesses his love to her.
Riteish Deshmukh’s has no doubt directed the movie so fluent, clear & flawlessly. The other cast like Jiya Shankar, Ashok Saraf, Rushikesh Turai & Sandeep Patil had done an amazing job as always. All the songs of this film were already trending from before even the release of the film. The bromance between Salman Khan & Riteish Deshmukh is really a highlight of one of the songs & it reminds of their cameo from the film ‘Lai Bhari’. And did Ajay-Atul’s track had ever dismayed the audience?
