Lately, these years for the Kota coaching hub in Rajasthan have been heartbreaking. As of now, around fifteen coaching students have committed suicide in Kota, Rajasthan this year. In 2022 there were suicide cases in Kota as well.
Devesh Bhardwaj from Vigyan Nagar police station said that the probe is ongoing and the motive behind the suicide is doubted to be stress.
Stress can be in multiple forms, maybe it happens due to study pressure, staying away from families, the environment etc.
Assistant police superintendent (Kota) Chandrasheel Thakur said, “If we look at the pattern, the suicides are reported mostly in April, May, and June. Most of the fresh students arrive in the city around that time. Many of them fail to cope. The results of exams also come in the same period..which increases the number of suicides due to failures.”
It is said that the post-mortem will be completed once the family members arrive. As per reports, 20 students committed suicide in 2018, and 18 students in 2019 in the Kota coaching hub, Rajasthan. No suicide record registerd for the year 2020-2021 due to COVID-19.
