Netflix being world’s favourite stream partner, there’s a good news coming for all its users! Now netflix will be reducing their subscription prices in 100 countries which will eventually boost up their viewership. Now people can enjoy it’s services in less prices!
Netflix, the popular streaming service, recently announced that it would be lowering its prices in certain countries. The main reason is likely to increase its subscriber base. The move is part of Netflix’s efforts to compete with other streaming services and gain a foothold in developing markets, where price sensitivity is high.
The company has cut prices ranging anywhere from 13 to 60 per cent in over 100 countries. Unfortunately for those in India, there is no reduction in the subscription price. Maybe we can see some discounts for Netflix in India?? Stay tuned…
The price cuts will impact more than 10 million subscribers in markets including Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, the independent research firm Ampere Analysis said separately. They are taking place across Asia, the Americas and the Middle East.
Shares of the streaming leader fell as much as 5.2% to $317.47 in New York. They were up 14% this year through Wednesday’s close.
Through their social media accounts, Netflix said “We’re always exploring ways to improve our members’ experience. We can confirm that we are updating the pricing of our plans in certain countries”.
Netflix currently has over 230 million subscribers worldwide, but it has been struggling to gain a foothold in some markets, particularly in Asia and Africa.
