On 17th February, Vidya Vikasini Vasai FC won the 2024 Golden baby league (U-11 category) against Vasai Virar United. 2024 Golden Baby League (U-11) was organized by the Palghar district football association at PDSTA ground Boisar. Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club gained this “hattrick” win after continuously dominating the field for the last three years under guidance of coach Savio Fernandes and management of Manager Nitin Singh. During the first round, Vasai Virar United scored the first goal. However, during the second round, Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club scored 2nd goal after their keeper saved a goal. After the second round, the score was 1-1 (draw) which resulted in penalties. During penalties, keeper saved goal for the team, hence, Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club secured a winning goal. Best player of the tournament was Daksh Aware.
Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club has stayed undefeated for three years straight. In 2023, both team a (winner) and team b (runner up) came in the finals and won. Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club has been the undefeated team in Palghar district football association under 11 category.
Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club was first started back in 2017, by coach Savio Fernandes. Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club faced several difficulties during the early years. “We didn’t have many players and proper ground in the beginning” said Manager Nitin Singh while talking about the Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club. “During the covid 19 pandemic parents and Vidya Vikasini school gave us their full support and with proper safety we started our training in Vidya Vikasini school” added Manager Nitin Singh by lauding the support provided by both parents and school. Manager Nitin Singh also lauded the will of the Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club players by saying “Even with the study pressure, players didn’t give up. They are managing both their studies and matches.” Head coach Savio Fernandes and Manager Nitin Singh thanked Principal Bro. Jose for his vision and Bro. Dasu for his support.
When asked about the future goals of the team, Manager Nitin Singh answered coach Savio Fernandes vision is to participate in the top league. Get accreditation and develop players to play at the highest level of game including the national team. He also added by saying that Vidya Vikasini Vasai Football club is even planning for ISL but it depends on the Franchise Rules and Regulations, the financial strength and success of the Club. In the end, Manager Nitin Singh gave special thanks to Head Coach Savio Fernandes for his efforts.
