Project: 01: RoRo trains between Bhayander and Vasai

Under that Vasai to Bhayandar route, the water transport service has now started.
The truth is, work started in 2017, but due to some technical difficulties, this water transport facility was not started. But now, in 2024, it has started. people of Vasai Virar are facing issues like being stuck in traffic and long-route travel via ghodbandar. But now that Vasai Virarkar people are migrating from Ghodbandar to get rid of it today, from Vasai Kela to Bhayander West, then directly to reach Dahisar, checking naka Virar is going to be easier. It can carry your car along with passenger transport. So there is an advantage for those who take vehicles to Mumbai.

Project 02: Four railway flyovers to be built in Vasai-Virar at Alkapuri, Oswal Nagri, Virat Nagar and Umelmanas
To solve the problem of traffic jams on the roads of Vasai-Virar, the MMRDA has approved the construction of four flyovers. The narrow condition of roads and encroachments in the city have made traffic difficult. The construction of flyovers at Alkapuri, Oswal Nagari, Virat Nagar and Umelman will start after the approval of the Railways.
It has become difficult to drive on the narrow and encroached roads of Vasai-Virar, adjacent to Mumbai. This problem is on the rise these days. Traffic has been chock-a-block since early morning. Four years ago, the municipal corporation had prepared a proposal to build six flyover bridges in Vasai-Virar. The BMC had sent the proposal to MMRDA, but it could not be taken forward. Now MMRDA has given administrative approval to 4 proposed flyovers to solve the problem of traffic jam in Vasai-Virar city.
Work will commence after approval. With the construction of this flyover, it will be easier to travel to and from Vasai-Virar East and Best. At the same time, people will get relief from traffic jams.
Most of the traffic jams are in the areas connecting the east and west of the city. Because the flyovers in Virar and Nalasopara are very narrow. As a result, there is a huge traffic jam on the bridge. The BMC had earlier decided to construct six flyovers from Naigaon to Virar. But due to the lack of budget in the corporation, the then-commissioner sent the proposal to MMRDA. After this, the Chief Minister asked MMRDA to work on it immediately. After this, MMRDA has approved the construction of four flyovers.
The area of Vasai-Virar city is spread over 380 square kilometers, and the population of the city is around 30 lakh. The roads in the city are narrow and congested, leading to heavy traffic jams.
These flyovers will be built
- Alakapuri: (Between Vasai and Nalasopara Railway Station)
- Oswal Nagari: (Between Virar and Nalasopara Railway Station)
- Virat Nagar: (Between Virar and Nalasopara Railway Station)
- Umelman: (Between Vasai and Naigaon Railway Station)
Project 03: The process of acquiring land has commenced for the construction of the fifth and sixth railway lines on the Borivali-Palghar route.
The process of acquiring land has commenced for the construction of the fifth and sixth railway lines on the Borivali-Palghar route.
Western Railway has initiated the process of acquiring land for the construction of new railway lines, which will result in a significant upgrade of the Borivali to Virar route.
The project requires the acquisition of 122 properties in the Vasai tehsil, and the process is now underway. The Western Railway and the Palghar Collectorate have started to buy land so that the fifth and sixth railway lines between Borivali and Virar can be built. This is a very important step toward making the current rail system less busy. With these extra lines, travel on the express route, which will only be used for suburban train services, should get a lot better.
It will cost about Rs 2,184.02 crore for the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) to carry out a project on the Western Railway route. The plan, designs, and drawings for the project have been accepted, and the drone survey went well. Authorization has been given for the main and secondary bridges in the proposal, and the location of the project has also been set.
The Railways put out an ad in early August looking to buy homes in Divanman, Achole, Navghar, Manikpur, and Umela. Pieces of land with housing developments and farmland are among these sites. The contract for building the service building and living rooms has been given, and work has begun. A relay room on Mira Road, a signal office, a tool room, an RRI building, and a Railway Protection Force barrack in Dahisar are the facilities that were named. Along with this, there is a station building at Naigaon and railway houses at Bhayander and Vasai Road.
Construction and alteration works have begun on buildings, foot-over bridges (FOBs), and platforms along particular railway routes, in accordance with contracts awarded in two separate batches in February. The initiative aims to mitigate traffic congestion on the high-speed route by exclusively dedicating it to suburban trains.
