“Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway” is a heart wrenching story of a mother who fights again the Norwegian foster care system and legal machinery to win back the custody of her two children. It is based on a true story of the brave Sagarika Chakraborty. Directed by Ashima Chibber, the cast includes Rani Mukherji who has played the lead role of Debika CHatterjee ( Sagarika Chakraborty) very smoothly and has done an amazing job. Anirban Bhattacharya has played the role of her husband Anirudh CHatterjee. Also, Jim Sarbh and Neena Gupta never fails to impress us.
The movie starts with an extremely touching scene where Rani Mukherjee’s natural acting would touch your heart immediately. Whole movie is full of deep emotions and it showcases the unconditional love and strength of a mother. Anirban Bhattacharya has also done a fantastic job and I ended up hating the character in the eventually! The color palette is mostly warm colors. Dialogues are decently written but when in the ending scene Rani Mukherji says,” Ham acha maa hain bura hain pata nahi…maa hain ….maa hoon sir” everyone was teary! and the unpredictable scenes makes the audience curious. The songs of this movie are enormously heart touching, sensitive and beautifully written and sung. The song “Maa ke dil se” is just so pure and marvelously sung by Javed Ali. Also the screenplay is very accurate, you will not get bored at any moment of time. The depiction of the harsh reality faced as Indians in aboard would tear you apart.
Personally I rate the movie 4/5 and everyone should watch this movie with the family but don’t forget tissues because there is a lot of crying!
