The ministry stated in a notification that a legal body of the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) determined in an investigation that “health drink is not a definition.”

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had previously issued a directive on April 2nd, requiring all e-commerce companies to appropriately categorize food products available for purchase on their websites. Bortavita had previously been issued a notice by the NCPCR regarding excessive sugar.
