Dalai lama: his office team took to Twitter and said he wanted to apologise to the boy and his family.The video also shows the Dalai Lama kissing the child on his lips and asking him if he want to lick his tounge “the Tibetan spiritual”.
His team concluded “His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras. He regrets the incident,”

The video has provoked and sparked criticism, many social media users and influencers termed it was inappropriate and disturbing, seeing a minor is being forced by an aged adult.
The incident appears to have taken place at the Dalai Lama’s temple at Dharamshala. on 28 February, lama had interacted with students who had completed a skills training programme .
The foundation uploaded media from the event on social media in March .In the video , the boy is seen being holded by his highness asking if he can hug the Dalai Lama. He showed him his cheek, saying “first here” and the boy kisses his cheek and gives him a hug.Then, while holding the boy’s hand, the Dalai Lama pouted his lips and says “I think here also”, and kisses the boy on the lips.
Lama then place his forehead on yhe boy’s head , before stocking out his tongue, saying “and suck my tongue”. some people among rhe spectators laugh and avoid the incident.
Before leaving , as the spiritual leader speaks to the boy , telling him to be a “good human beings who create peace and happiness”brings prosperity!
Many people came in defending dalai lama and said “Sticking one’s tongue out can be a form of greeting in Tibet”.
This is not the first time lama caught in sight of midia controversy , In 2019, the Dalai Lama’s office had to apologise after he told the BBC intervier in an interview that any future female Dalai Lama should be “attractive”.
