Popular singer Sonu Nigam was on Monday allegedly assaulted by Shiv Sena (UBT) members during a program in the Chembur area. He rushed to Chembur Police station to lodge the FIR for the same.
According to the information received, Nigam was performing at the event organized by MLA Prakash Phaterpekar in Chembur. After his performance, he was suddenly attacked by the son of a local Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA who misbehaved with the singer’s manager. This incident was recorded on Monday, after 11pm.
The goons manhandled the singer during the live show in which his master’s son Rabbani Khan was also injured. Rabbani Khan along with the injured musicians was sent to the hospital for treatment, and they were later sent home. On the same night, Sonu Nigam also filed a complaint regarding the matter at Chembur police station. After this, the police started investigating the matter and the people who did the heckling are being identified.
Sonu Nigam alleged that the MLA’s son first misbehaved with his manager Saira. Later when Sonu Nigam was coming down from the stage, he first pushed the singer’s bodyguard and then pushed Sonu as well. However, in this scuffle, his master’s son Rabbani Khan fell doom the stage, and he got many injuries. An attempt was made to contact Sonu, but he is still in shock from this incident, so he refused to talk.
