Saiesh Veera, a 24-year-old Indian student, was shot dead while working at a petrol station in Ohio on April 20, 2023. He hailed from Andhra Pradesh and was pursuing his master’s degree in the US. The Columbus Division of Police has released the image of the suspect and asked for public assistance in identifying the person.
Saiesh Veera was a brilliant cricketer and was known for his helpful nature on and off the field. The case is under investigation by the police and the next of kin has been informed.
In response to a reported shooting, Columbus Police officers were called to the 1000 block of West Broad Street on April 20, 2023, at 12:50 AM. When the police arrived, they discovered an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. His name was SAIESH VEERA, M/O/24. When Columbus Fire medics showed there, they took the victim to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, the victim passed away at 1:27 AM.
Investigations into this occurrence are still ongoing. The incident summary from the Columbus Division of Police stated that the next of kin had been informed. In the interim, the police have made the suspect’s photo public and are requesting help from the public in identifying the person.
According to Rohit Yalamanchili, who is in charge of an online fundraising campaign to send Veera’s remains back to India, the deceased young man was enrolled in a master’s programme when he was selected for an H1B visa, just 10 days before his graduation.
Veera, the first member of his family to go to the US, had high hopes for his family because his father had passed away two years prior. Yalamanchili continued, “I pray that god grants Saiesh, his mother, family, and friends who were affected by his spirit, tranquilly.
