Although it has star power, War 2 (2025) lacks execution. In this review, we analyze why Jr. NTR’s action sequences and acting arcs seem forced and why Hrithik’s performance falls short despite his trademark charisma. The film’s plot is criticized for being illogical and flimsy, with a lot of smoke but little fire, and for having weak, cliché dialogues that detract from the dramatic stakes.
The action moments, which were supposed to be the high point, fell flat because of the clumsy choreography, cartoonish visual effects, and attitudes that make many roll their eyes (“plane scenes felt like poor video-game sequences”), leaving viewers confused. Tension, bad reasoning, and a ridiculous depiction of the Indian Army cause the storyline logic to falter, defying any attempt at logical storytelling.
Kiara Advani plays a small and mostly inconsequential role; many people point out that it was essentially thrown on during flashy set pieces and lacked depth or meaning. However, not everything falls low: Anil Kapoor delivers notable moments, delivering rare glimpses of measured performance and emotional grounding in a tense situation, just as how the army would respond to it.

Despite creative faults, War 2 grossed nearly ₹200 crore in its first week, making it Hrithik’s fifth-highest grosser. However, Coolie’s momentum overshadowed the launch, falling short of expectations for a Spy-Universe event.
In conclusion, War 2 is a flashy, star-studded letdown—visually stunning but narratively flat. Hrithik and NTR’s presence is insufficient to overcome major flaws in acting, action logic, and story integrity. Only Anil Kapoor provides actual substance. If you’re looking for aesthetics and star chemistry, it might work—but as a satisfying spy thriller, this one falls short.
