On 19th January, The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new metro line 2A and line 7 which runs from Gundavali metro.
The new metro line will benefit millions of Mumbaikars and help to reduce traffic on new link road.
Metro service will be opened for commoners from Friday, 20th January.
The 18.6 km long Metro line 2A connects Dahisar East and DN Nagar (yellow line) and the 16.5 km long metro line 7 connects Andheri East and Dahisar East (red line).
As per reports, PM Modi will be taking first ride on metro from Gundavali to Mogra.
“The entire civil work and the system works of the metro lines have been completed and soon the second phase of the metro 2A and 7 will be in service of Mumbaikars,” said S V R Srinivas, metropolitan commissioner of MMRDA.
The 2A line will run from Dahisar to Dahanu nagar in Andheri west and line 7 will run from Dahisar East to Gundavali, Andheri East.
The metro line is constructed at cost of 12,600 crores.
The starting ticket prices of both metros will be 10rs to 50rs, the prices are based on the distance travelled by passengers. The metro will be run at the average frequency of 10 minutes and depending on the time of the day.
The first train will be at 5:55am on line 2A from Andheri west and last train will be at 9:24 pm.
On Line 7, the first train from Gundavali (Andheri E) will start from 6 am and the last train will be at 9:24 pm.

There will be a total of 28 trains of six cars. Each train will have a capacity of 2,280 passengers, as per the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Thus it will reduce the traffic by 25 percent and crowd in Mumbai local trains.
