The Assembly elections for 224 seats in Karnataka are scheduled on May 10 which is just around the corner. PM Narendra Modi has commenced his two-day visit to Karnataka. On April 29 and April 30 (Saturday and Sunday), he will attend a total of six public meetings and two roadshows.
While speaking at a public meeting at Humnabad in Bidar district, PM Modi said, “Congress will never understand the struggle and pain of the poor. Congress slowed the pace of houses here. But BJP gave ownership of houses to women here. Congress only did appeasement politics. Karnataka has suffered under the Congress government Congress only cares about seats and not about the people of the state. Congress has stalled development in the state.”

PM Narendra Modi also said at the same public meeting that Congress has started abusing him again. “Every time Congress abuses me, gets demolished. Congress has abused me 91 times…Let Congress abuse me, I will keep on working for the people of Karnataka,” he said in Humnabad, Bihar.
PM Modi assured the locals that this is an election to make Karnataka the number one state in the country. According to him only Double-Engine Government can develop and make Karnataka number one. “I received Bidar’s blessing earlier also. This election is not just for winning, it is an election to make Karnataka the number 1 state in the country. The state can only develop when its all parts are developed. This election will decide the role of the state and to make it number 1, double engine government is very important,” PM Modi expressed this at a public meeting at Humnabad in Bidar district.
On Friday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi promised that if his party comes to power in Karnataka, he will allocate Rs 5000 crore for the Kalyana Karnataka region and Rs 1 crore for each village panchayat. He also promised that if the result is in favor of his party then they will guarantee that all women can travel free in public transport buses. Congress president’s son Priyank Kharge expressed his beliefs in Congress that it will come to power in Karnataka.

On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called Congress a “reverse gear” government in a public rally he attended. He said, “Your vote will decide the fate of Karnataka…It will decide whether Karnataka will remain under the leadership of PM Modi’s double engine government or Rahul Gandhi’s reverse gear Congress government.”
The Chittapur MLA said the aim is to bring back the glory of the state concerning investments and generating employment opportunities.
PM Modi also said while contrasting both parties, “Foreign investment has increased thrice in the state under the BJP regime compared to the Congress regime. There is double development with double speed in the state. Karnataka is ready for the BJP government again. Congress had only made fake promises to the farmers and people of Karnataka. Farmers of the state has received no benefits under the Congress government.”
PM Modi’s two-day visit to Karnataka includes Bidar’s Humnabad for the first pubic gathering, then his second one for the day will be at the Vijaypura area, and the third one at Kudachi in Belagavi district. Later, he would fly to Bengaluru in the evening to hold a road show in Bengaluru North. On Sunday, he would depart from Raj Bhavan after staying in Bengaluru. Kolar will be the first destination of day two to address his fourth public meeting. The fifth meeting is in Channapatna and the sixth one is in Hassan district’s Belur. On Sunday evening his second roadshow will be held in Mysuru.
