After the huge success if Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is set to enchant everyone again with his new creation ‘Heeramandi ‘. This web series is set to release on Netflix and the release date jss yet to be revealed. So get ready to experience the whole new world of one of India’s finest directors!
Netflix posted the first look of the web series which revealed many things including the cast. The cast includes huge ensemble actresses like Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh & Sharmin Segal.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali quoted in a statement, “Heeramandi is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. This is an epic, first-of-its-kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it. I am looking forward to my partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences all over the world.”

What is Heeramandi all about?
The story of this SLB classic will explore the lives of three different generations of courtesans from Lahore’s Heera Mandi area. The story will be set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s.
His last release Gangubai Kathiawadi gave us peek into the life of Gangubai Harjeevandas aka Gangubai Kothewali, the madam of a brothel in Mumbai’s Kamathipura in 1960s, he is all set to delve deep into the world on a much bigger scale with his maiden web series titled Heeramandi.
