Few days ago, Injustice occurred in Naleshwar Nagar, Virar. Where government destroyed the dozens of houses of the poor people and when those people demanded justice, no one listened to them. Ujwala Bhagat, the tehsildar of Vasai-Virar, asserted that the unlawful structures were only demolished after the affected people received eviction notices.
Many people have become homeless, especially women and children after that incident. This controversy has made people even more angry, and they are demanding immediate investigation.
As per some sources, Tehsildar is even trying to mislead the Human rights commission who came to do investigation of the incident. According to the government, the houses they destroyed were illegally made on the government land. They even sent notice before the eviction.
As per crime reporters TV news, Municipality, Forest department and Tehsildar were all included in this controversy. Due to the irresponsibility of these departments, mafia was able to build thousands of illegal homes.
However, after government destroyed several houses, people got extremely angry and started pelting stones on the police officers. As the situation became heated, police had to do lathi charge on the people. A woman even fainted in that conflict. Many people in lathi change became injured. Some people even criticized this move by the police.
This is not the first time such incident has occurred in Virar. Previously, similar incident occurred in Boida Pada area of Virar where government destroyed hundreds of houses. That incident left hundreds of people homeless. The incident of Naleshwar Nagar is being called as “second Boidapada”
