With just a week left before the combat between RCB and MI, the buzz of excitement increases even more as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise has arranged a stellar event for the fans which would give them a close look at the team’s practice for the upcoming mega IPL 2023.
RCB unbox event was held on March 26 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru where the fans witnessed the former RCB players AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle who attended the event for a special honour. The two former players for their legendary contribution to the team have been added to the RCB’s Hall of Fame as a token of appreciation. Both the players signed their jerseys numbers 17 (ABD) and 333 (Gayle) and are now officially retired from the team.
Virat Kohli says, “It’s great to be back here. It’s an honour to retire their jerseys. These two guys are from different countries and see the love they have garnered here. This is beyond the game.”
“I never asked for number 18, when I got my first U-19 jersey, it was number 18 then when I made my India debut, it was on August 18th, unfortunately, my father passed away on the 18th, so it wasn’t a random number anymore, it stuck with me, ” says Virat while talking about his jersey.
The extravaganza included a list of live performances by singers like Jason Derulo, Sonu Nigam, Tulsi Kumar and other impeccable performers who performed live at the mega event. Smriti Mandhana and RCB women’s team were also spotted at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
