Looks like the makers decided to add a cherry on the top for the fans by announcing this re-release ahead of the release of the much awaited film of Indian cinema. Hold on to your hearts as 2001’s iconic – Gadar Ek Prem Katha is re-releasing in cinemas on June 9th for a limited time in 4K and Dolby Atmos. Zee Studios took YouTube to upload the new trailer for the film, on Friday. This re-release is scheduled prior to the release of a direct sequel to the first part – Gadar 2 which will release on August 11th 2023.

On Thursday, Sunny Deol took his Instagram to announce re-release of the film. Talking to Instagram he wrote “Wohi prem, wohi katha, par iss baar alag hoga ehsaas! #Gadar returns to the big screen on 9th June for a limited period in 4K and Dolby Atmos sound. Stay tuned, trailer out tomorrow!”
Reacting to the trailer on YouTube, a fan said “No one can replace SUNNY DEOL. Bollywood will never have any better action hero than SUNNY DEOL”
Another fan wrote “No movie can replace GADAR. That background score. Those songs. Action. Acting. Everything is just perfect.” Fans are constantly praising Sunny Deol and his irreplaceable acting.
Gadar Ek Prem Katha originally released in cinemas on June 15, 2001. In the lead roles, it starred Sunny Deol (Tara Singh), Ameesha Patel (Sakeena), Late Amrish Puri (Ashraf Ali) and many others in supporting roles. The story was based during the partition and revolved around Tara Singh, a truck driver who falls in love with a Muslim girl, Sakeena. Tara weds Sakeena during the partition and the two of them lead content lives. Their joy, however, is short-lived when Sakeena’s father forcibly removes her from her family and compels her to remain in Pakistan.
After receiving favourable reviews from audiences and reviewers upon release, the film went on to become a box office smash and an iconic film for the fans till date.
