In a world where over 50% of things are made of plastic, it’s not wrong to say that our planet is submerged in plastic waste. The nature of plastic is non-biodegradable and thus it persist on earth for over a hundred years making it harmful for other existing living organisms. There are n number of cases where the fishes and animals have seen either being trapped in plastic or seen dead due to plastic consumption. This ‘Plastic Issue’ isn’t new to the world and many companies have already banned the use of plastic by substituting it by paper, bamboo, wood etc. But what about the major plastic based industries? The largest and globally spread plastic based industry is of plastic use and throw containers be it plates, spoons, bowls and glasses. But now a man from the country India has came up with the solution!
Yes you got me right, an Indian entrepreneur Puneet Dutta has invented edible, single-use cutlery! He has build a start up company named “Attaware Cutlery” which was founded on 15th August 2019. They have introduced total 5 cutlery items like plates, spoon, glasses, bowls and take away containers with the most affordable prices. Made up of only two items being wheat and jaggery, the products do not contain any colors and nor preservatives. Having a shelf life of 6 months, they do not melt for 5 hours of use. You can easily eat them, else give it to street-side animals after your usage or it will automatically degrade in soil. What else could be a much more healthier, safer, cheaper and easier alternative to replace the usage plastics?
These product produces zero waste leading to decreased landfills. It is truly a revolutionary step and I think it’s a high time we should understand its importance and should support this start-up to grow and spread as fast as fire.
