Lately, a murder case in the Thane district caught everyone’s attention. Manoj Sane (56) who got arrested for allegedly killing his live-in partner Saraswati Vaidya (32), chopped her body parts into pieces, boiled, roasted and fed to dogs.
Police Investigation
After the police successfully found the victim’s sisters for an investigation, it was revealed that the ‘live-in’ couple were married secretly in real life. Police were informed that the couple got married in a temple and agreed to hide it because of the age gap.
As per reports, an FIR has been registered against Sane under Indian Penal Code sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) at the Naya Nagar police station.
Police are making an effort to get to the bottom of this case but the accused is not cooperating with the team much, cops said. The accused also said that Vaidya and he were a “live-in” partner and she died on June 3 by poisoning herself which made the accused petrified, he tried to dispose of her body and then planned to commit suicide.
Victim’s Murder
The accused will be in police custody till June 16. Manoj met Saraswati fifteen years ago. For the past nine years, the victim and the accused were living together in a rented flat in Mira Road.
This case was out in public when the neighbors registered a complaint regarding a foul smell from the flat. Police found the body parts and arrested Sane on Thursday.
However, it is considered that Sane brutally murdered Vaidya on June 4, chopped her body and boiled it, then fed it to the dogs and got arrested on June 7.
During the investigation, the victim’s sisters also revealed that the couple used to live in Borivali. Her sisters have never been to the Mira Road apartment.
The Police said that the accused is not cooperating with them. Yet the motive behind this murder is still unknown.
